If you go to "who's online", quite often there's guests registering for an account. However, we seldom actually get new members, so most of these individuals don't end up getting one. Is this because they're spambots, or has this forum become a magnet for indecisive people?

Without The Emu, there'd be no morality. If there was no morality, there'd be nothing wrong with rape, stealing, or refusing to kill people for following a different religion. This would be terrible indeed. Do you really wish to live such a horrible, amoral life by denying The Emu's existence?

Well, it would explain why things have been rather slow here of late, if people are signing up and aren't able to get their accounts to work.

I'm wondering if the note about signing in actually refers to us? I noticed today that it said there were 4 people online (me plus 3 guests), but one of the guests was listed as logging in at the same time as I did.
UPDATE: scrap that. Wasn't me - different person.

My best guess is spambots since there are 3 people who have signed up this year including one person who has posted (although I think that was Ice testing the system).
